Lisa’s boho van is going to be a “life changer” for her. Diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer, Lisa doesn’t let this set back stop her from hiking, rock climbing, surfing and being a talented musician. She plays both stand up bass and sings! Since she was a teenager, she has backpacked to remote locations with her parents, who are also artists (hence the name VanGo)!

Lisa’s plan with VanGo is to travel around the country and interview other stage IV cancer patients with plans to turn it into a documentary. Many of them have outlived their prognosis, and she wants to highlight these stories and honor those who passed. Her adventures will be shared via her website www.vangovan.com including a vlog with pictures and stories.

VanGo was built off the RAM Promaster chassis via Boho’s Tall layout, and was customized to fit Lisa’s feel including dark brown flooring, a blue oasis backsplash, blue cushion upholstery and a funky boho duvet cover. Stained red cedar paneling gives the van a warm, cabin-like feel.

Lisa’s van includes a hot water heater placed under the platform bed, and a 75L Dometic fridge unit stored under the driver’s side sofa seat. A pull-out butcher block table allows for face-to-face dining and late night conversations. Victron components were used for electrical systems, with power usage and trends available for reading via a bluetooth connection to her phone.

Lisa has been a pleasure to work with, her story is inspiring to the team and boho, and we all know we’ll catch her on the beaches of California for years to come.
