story:

Scott and Sarah are siblings that live in different areas of the country (Arizona & Montana). They wanted a family camper van that they could share throughout the year as well as rent to their friends and family.

Gus was inspired by the pair’s mother who always dreamed of building a “Skoolie” and hitting the road. Unfortunately she passed away before she could realize the dream. Gus was the name of her “angel of gratitude” who provided solace while transitioning from this level of existence to the next.

Gus is a custom van, built on a RAM Promaster High Roof, that we are proud to have built for Scott, Sarah and their family. It’s loaded with features including dual roof fan’s, a 48”W double seat sofa, an Espar B4L off-grid heater, a built-in propane stove (with glass flip lid) and more!

The van is loaded with windows with bunk screen sliders bookending the bed and a 3rd above the sofa. Their slider door also has a full panel window with screen ensuring their will always be natural light throughout the van.

The electrical system is BIG - including 300ah of Battleborn Lithium Batteries, a 2000W Victron Multiplus, 400W of solar panels, and an Orion DC-DC charger tied into the car engine battery.

We loved what Scott and Sarah chose for their custom finishes. The black/textured hexagonal tile pops against the stained red cedar paneling, and the vinyl upholstery fits the concept and the vinyl fabric makes it easy to clean.

Gus has tables on tables, including two countertops, a flip-up butcher block kitchen extensions and a removable Lagun swivel table that stows seamlessly behind the sofa.

Final touches on Gus included a 2.6 gallon hot water heater, a 12’ Fiamma awning, a pullout wall pantry and a bed booster step on rails (with storage inside).

The road of life bends, twists and sometimes ends sooner than you expect…something we all understand but often take for granted. Though Gus is a van and not a “Skoolie”, we are honored to be a small part of Scott and Sarah’s homage to their mother.
